Making you the Four Poster Bed of your dreams.
Readers of The History of the Four Poster Bed have been sending emails, asking us questions we cannot always answer, but would love to know more about. What we can do is post it on the website and perhaps you can help. Please send any emails to us, and we will post them on this page with the questions. This will create a better data base for all of us.
Does anyone have information regarding the history of four poster beds please?
Thank you in advance, Stephen Edwards.
Can you please give me any information about this bed? It is believed to be over 100 years old, but I can’t find any info on it.
I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you, Georgaki Sofia.
I would think that there would have been a canopy on the top of the posts, as there are metal dowels fixed in the top to locate the canopy. Stephen Edwards.
I was wondering if you have any info on
the attached bed pictures? It was believed to have
belonged to King Phillip IV of Spain. I haven't been
able to find a picture similar. Can you help?? Thanks
