Bed Range

There are a variety of four poster bed styles available, with different panels and posts. If you cannot find the four poster bed of your dreams, then we can design a bed for you, in a traditional, reproduction, modern or contemporary style. These canopy beds are handmade in sycamore, mahogany, ash, and oak.

Beds can be made to any size, but prices are worked using standard UK mattress sizes (Please email for different size requirements).

Stephen Edwards will personally discuss your favoured design through emails, telephone, or in the showroom, then make the bed, making sure that you have the bed that you have always desired. If your ideas differ from what he usually makes, please do not hesitate to ask, he loves a challenge.

This range of four poster beds has been developed with you in mind, using both traditional furniture making skills, and modern fittings, to produce an easy to assemble bed that will go up your stairs without any difficulty (in fact, the bed base and mattress are the largest components).

There are also a choice of posts included various turned, and twisted posts. Your bed is tailored your specifications in mattress size, timber and finish, and can even include a carving service for your initials, insignias, family crests, matching other furniture, etc.

We endeavour to use locally grown, sustainable English Oak and English Ash wherever possible.Tree trunks are carefully selected, planked, then air and kiln dried on the premises, thus maintaining quality control throughout the whole process, from the growing tree, to your finished four poster bed.

To accompany your bed, we are able to offer you drapes, usually consisting of curtains, valences (the frilly bits around the top), counter panes (bed spreads), bolsters (big round pillows, for decoration) etc.We also supply a wide range of high quality, handmade bed bases and mattresses.

Mattress sizes vary between countries, so it is best to quote sizes (usually inches).

As you will see from our price lists, we have the ultimate large mattress, 84" x 84". This comes split into two halves and zipped up the middle as it would be too heavy to carry and turn over. A mattress should be turned regularly. Remember although there are four ways to turn it on a sprung/pocket sprung mattress it can only be turned around with a memory foam style.

We can supply any size mattresses even if they are not standard sizes, so please email us with your request.

We can also make your four poster bed around your existing mattress and divan base.
